This is Not a Solo Show: Michelle Cawthorn and Peter Sharp
Suitable for Primary and High School Students (Year 3 - 12)
Bring your students to a free excursion exploring This Is Not a Solo Show, celebrating ten years of collaboration between artists Michelle Cawthorn and Peter Sharp. Through Cawthorn’s introspective drawings and Sharp’s dynamic responses to the natural world, students will encounter a rich dialogue between two distinct creative practices.
As part of the free excursion package, students will take part in two activities:
Guided Exhibition Tour (1 hour)
Discover This Is Not a Solo Show, celebrating ten years of collaboration between Michelle Cawthorn and Peter Sharp. Featuring reimagined works and new pieces from their 2025 residency, the exhibition offers students a dynamic look at contrasting artistic approaches and creative dialogue.
Collage Workshop (1 hour)
Inspired by Cawthorn’s bird works, students will create a hybrid bird collage.

Arriving
Allow 5 -10 minutes at the beginning of your visit for the Gallery introductions. Please be punctual as tours and workshops are scheduled for specific times. Late arrivals may result in a reduction in the number of artworks viewed and the shortening of practical workshops.
Please report to Gallery front desk and advise Gallery staff of your arrival. The Gallery Guides and / or Education Officer will meet you in the foyer area.
Bag checking
Bags must be checked in. Gallery staff will advise where to leave bags. Please make sure students have all they need with them (including medication) before they move into the Gallery’s exhibition spaces.
Art diaries, worksheets and lead pencils
Students are encouraged to bring art books to make notes and reflections in. For unaccompanied and self-directed tours, if you have prepared worksheets for class activities, clipboards and lead pencils are available for students to use. Please advise numbers in advance.
Please note
We have a minimal waste policy and ask that packaging of food items brought to the Gallery are minimised.
