Burnt Dirt: Objects in Practice is the culminating exhibition of the 2026 Burnt Dirt Artist In Residence Program.

Featuring works by 24 artists from across Australia, the exhibition showcases new and experimental ceramic and object- based artworks developed during 4-week immersive residencies at Clay Wollongong’s Wollongong studio.

The exhibition will include sculptural works, objects and collaborative pieces that reflect the artists’ diverse practices and experience.

Supported by artist talks and public programming, Burnt Dirt offers the Wollongong community a rare insight into the evolving field of contemporary object art in Australia.
